Russia now requires that all adoptive parents travel twice. The initial preview trip is 5-6 days. You will meet your child during your first trip. The second and court trip will be an average of 10-21 days in country, depending on the region. During the second trip a final decree of adoption will be granted and you will return home with your child. The average wait between the two trips is from 4-10 weeks.

Families can stay in either a hotel or with a host family in most of our regions. All families will be escorted through each step of their journey by competent regional coordinators and interpreters. Our regional coordinators will assure that all adoption related activities are completed smoothly and professionally. During the last trip, the Moscow coordinator will schedule your Embassy appointment, child’s medical exam, and consulate registration.

Russia currently has infants, toddlers and school-aged children available for adoption. Sibling groups and twins are also available. Upon your request we will happily provide you with the names and telephone numbers of families who have adopted through our Russia Program.
