Did I mention that Marina is native Siberian? Both her biological parents were Shorian. The Shors are a small group of indiginous people from the Altai region of Russia. Information on the tribe is scarce. According to published reports the population of Shors as of 1989 was numbered between 15,000 - 17,000. Peoples of the Redbook has published a web page with information on the Shors. Nupi Center for Russian Studies also has published information on the group. Lyn Roberts-Herrick and Bill Pfeiffer, in conjunction with the Dream change Coalition took a trip to Siberia in November of 1999 for the purpose of planning an expedition to meet Siberian shamans. Their guides were members of the Shor tribe. They have written a story about their adventure. |
