Adoption Source began as a small community adoption
agency. We saw ourselves serving the needs of our immediate neighborhood. Our goal was to have a friendly,
well-informed, knowledgeable staff member available to greet each phone call. We never wanted any
prospective adoptive parent to feel like a number. We saw that the most successful adoption was one in
which the needs of the adoptive parent was anticipated and met.
Adoption Source will never accept a larger number of
clients than our programs can handle without compromising our dedication to service. Adoption Source will
never compromise our dedication to the children we serve.
In the six years since its inception, we have
metamorphosed from a small community agency, to serving families across the United States and U.S. Citizens
living abroad.
We have enjoyed this growth and maturity as an agency,
yet have not been deterred from our course of maintaining our high principles and our professional standards.
As we move into 2004, Adoption Source has many exciting milestones ahead. Last year we proudly celebrated
our 5th Anniversary, thus entitling us to apply for our individual accreditation to the Russian Federation.
We have seen, with much anticipation, adoptions re-open in Moldova. We celebrated our registration in
Kazakhstan. We look forward to building our program and serving the children in Kazakhstan as well.
On our recent trip to Russia this past September,
Jeannette Cohen and I had the honor of meeting with the Vice-Governor in Orenburg, and believe that our
very positive reception will further ease the process in the region and assist in finding forever families
for the beautiful children there.
We also had the honor of being interviewed by the
government TV channel in Tyumen. Our discussions were very well received in the region. A true highlight
of the trip to Tyumen was the opportunity to tour the Fortula Children’s Center. We toured the facility
with the Director of the Center and the Minister of Education in the region. We were very impressed with
the groundbreaking philosophies of social and educational integration of the older children who reside in
the facility. It is our fervent goal and dream for the future to begin our own summer camp program to
assist these wonderful older children in finding their forever families.
Although exhausting, we feel our trip to Russia was
extremely successful. We look forward to all the changes in the coming year.
It is our promise to all the families and children we
serve, that we will never allow ourselves to grow too large to where our “small town agency” philosophy will
change.
We will bear the tremendous costs of accreditation and
maintenance of our accreditation costs without passing these financial burdens on to our adoptive families.
We will work hard along with all the other agencies to
try to help each and every child find the way to their family.
We will continue to travel personally to all the
regions we work with to keep up our close and personal relationships with our regional staff, thus enabling
us to better serve our adoptive families.
We will continue our financial support of the orphanages
we work with to improve the day-to-day lives of the children who still remain behind. We proudly saw the
differences the adoption funds have made in the playgrounds built, the muddy walkways, which are now paved,
and the availability of much needed medical supplies. We proudly commit ourselves in our dedication to the
children of the world, one child at a time.
We thank all our adoptive families for their faith and
support throughout the years. We don’t take lightly that so many of our families have referred their friends
and neighbors to our agency. We have worked hard for your confidence, and will continue to strive to deserve
the faith you have placed in us, one child at a time…..
My wishes to all the Adoption Source families, all the
families we have helped bring together, and all the people whose lives you have touched, a safe, healthy and
happy holiday season.
